Cost Accountant | St. Johns, MI
Salary Range: $66,000 - $99,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and report on manufacturing costs, including labor, material, and overhead variances.
- Develop, maintain, and update standard costs for Bill of Materials (BOMs) and routings.
- Perform detailed variance analysis (price, quantity, efficiency) and provide actionable insights.
- Manage inventory valuation, reconcile physical inventory to the general ledger, and analyze obsolescence.
- Support the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes for cost of goods sold.
- Calculate product costs for new products, special projects, and "what-if" scenarios.
- Prepare and distribute regular cost reports for management to support decision-making.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of progressive cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- In-depth knowledge of cost accounting principles, inventory valuation, variance analysis, and GAAP.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Bonus Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL).
- Experience with large-scale ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
- Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.
