Direct Counsel is seeking a Marketing & Business Development Coordinator to join a leading California law firm. This full-time (40 hours per week) position plays a key role in supporting the firm’s marketing, business development, and communications initiatives, with a focus on CRM management, competitive intelligence, attorney business development support, and the creation of high-quality marketing materials.
The ideal candidate will be resourceful, collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, professional environment. A hybrid schedule (three days in the office, two remote) may be available after 90 days.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development

Manage and optimize the firm’s CRM, including data maintenance, mailing lists, and user support/training.

Assist with customized pitch materials, RFP responses, and outcome tracking.

Conduct competitive and industry research to support client development strategies.

Collaborate with attorneys and practice groups to identify and pursue new business opportunities.

Attend practice group meetings to stay informed on upcoming events and opportunities.
Marketing, PR, and Communications

Draft and distribute client alerts, newsletters, blog posts, and event invitations (WordPress, Canva, Constant Contact).

Manage legal rankings and award submissions for the firm and attorneys.

Support new attorney onboarding with bios, headshots, and contact updates.

Maintain attorney profiles on the website and external directories.

Assist with planning, promoting, and executing firm-hosted events, webinars, and sponsorship activities.
Administrative & Team Support

Monitor the marketing department inbox and manage internal requests.

Track expenses, process checks, and assist with intranet updates.

Provide backup coverage during high-volume periods or absences.

Collaborate with the marketing team to improve processes and communication.
Requirements:

1–5 years of marketing or business development experience (professional services or law firm preferred).

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field.

Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Nexl, InterAction, Salesforce) and email marketing tools (e.g., Constant Contact).

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with WordPress preferred.

Some design skills (Canva or similar) a plus.

Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Compensation: $50,000 – $68,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
