Join JLG as a Production Floor Team Lead and take charge of our second-shift operations. You’ll guide an engaged team to hit safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals while building a culture of continuous improvement.
Shift: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 p.m.–5:00 a.m. (overtime as required)
Your impact
- Supervise daily manufacturing work, allocate tasks, and ensure the right tools and materials are in place.
- Uphold safety and 5S/housekeeping standards across the area.
- Maximize throughput without compromising quality; balance labor and workflow to meet plan.
- Coach Team Members, deliver feedback, and conduct periodic performance appraisals.
- Lead small-group problem-solving and continuous improvement (Kaizen) activities.
- Maintain accurate performance records and production documentation.
Process improvement and problem solving
- Analyze current and new products to define optimal methods, standards, equipment, tools, and cell layouts.
- Run root-cause analyses; coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering and other partners to implement corrective actions quickly.
- Identify cost, flow, and quality opportunities; prepare supporting analyses, layouts, and comparative cost estimates.
- Audit and update standards to enhance data accuracy.
Quality stewardship
- Ensure compliance with MPS, WPS, Router Documentation & Work Instructions, ISO requirements, JLG Quality System Procedures, and EHS policies.
- Spot risks to quality and drive robust countermeasures.
- Adjust machines, processes, materials, or assembly techniques to meet specifications.
- Strengthen inspection practices to elevate product quality and reduce cost of nonconformance.
- Investigate defects; recommend updates to products or standards as needed.
Cross-functional partnership
- Support Materials Management with technical insights for purchasing raw materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Assist in qualifying new sources and suppliers.
- Provide input to strategic manufacturing roadmaps.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you bring
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience in manufacturing or production.
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management or related field (preferred).
- Team Coordinator Assessment (preferred).
- Lean/Six Sigma or PMP/Project Management certifications (preferred).
- Experience with Lotus Notes and JDE is a plus; you’ll be expected to become proficient within three months.
- Completion of Team and Continuous Improvement Training (or willingness to complete).
- Proven ability to plan and organize projects; strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on technical aptitude on the production floor.
- Knowledge of CFM, pull systems, Kaizen, Poke‑yoke/Poke-yoke, Lean Manufacturing, Toyota Production System, Just-in-Time, time standards, ergonomics, EHS, ISO 9000, general computer proficiency, and assembly-process manufacturing.
