Job DescriptionPlant Operator – Chemical Manufacturing
Pay Rate: $28.00/hour
Location: 1800 E. President Street, Savannah, GA
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Plant Operator to support operations at a chemical manufacturing facility. This role is hands-on and involves product handling, packaging, equipment operation, and maintaining a clean and efficient plant environment.
The ideal candidate has mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Activities:
Load bulk tanker trucks with liquid chemical products using bulk loading systems
Connect hoses to tanker compartments
Pump product safely and accurately into trailers
Fill packaged orders including totes, drums, and pails
Perform plant cleaning and routine maintenance to maintain a safe, organized work environment
Assist with light maintenance tasks, including:
PVC piping installation
Hose replacement
Operate forklifts as required
Forklift certification will be provided to qualified employees
Previous experience working in a chemical plant, manufacturing plant, or industrial environment
Experience with pumps, hoses, and PVC piping preferred
Forklift experience preferred (certification provided if needed)
Strong understanding of safety procedures and willingness to follow site protocols
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
Ability to lift, handle, and move materials associated with plant operations
