Job DescriptionJob Description: PipefitterJob Summary As a Pipefitter, you will be fitting pipes into various materials, including steel, galvanized, copper, copper-nickel, and stainless steel. Your role will encompass precise assembly of valves and fittings, using a diverse range of tools and equipment in alignment with blueprints, drawings, and arrangements. You expertise will be essential for maintaining the integrity of pipe systems, even in challenging conditions like confined spaces, different weather, and at varying heights. You’ll be contributing to vessel construction on multiple shifts, ensuring the successful completion of quality craftsmanship. Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints and layout requirements.
- Cut, shape, and install pipes with precision.
- Test and maintain systems for quality and safety.
- Collaborate as a productive team member.
- Ensure punctuality, cleanliness, and equipment care.
Essential Skills & Experience
- 1-3 years of marine, shipbuilding, and construction experience.
- Skilled in setting up, performing, and documenting flushing and testing for various pipe systems including troubleshooting.
- Basic math and measurement skills, including reading tape measures and using hand torches.
Safety & Environmental Factors: All employees are expected to adhere to the company’s safety policies to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. This role involves working under extreme hot or cold conditions and requires the physical ability to stand for the entire shift, use hands for various tasks, ascend stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. Team members must occasionally lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Pay: $28 - $44/hr
