Stern Consultants is expanding, and we're excited to add to our team! We're seeking a motivated, detail-driven Entry-Level Healthcare Office Support professional to support purchasing operations for our Food Service department. This is a fully on-site role at our corporate office (not remote), with 100% comprehensive hands-on training provided. If you're looking to start or grow a career, this is a fantastic opportunity!
Responsibilities
- Accurately calculate and verify costs for all food, supplies, and dietary-related purchases
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, including emergency stock supplies to ensure facilities remain fully operational
- Assist in managing purchasing budgets, tracking expenditures, and identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Prepare and process purchase orders, receiving logs, and detailed purchasing reports
- Maintain organized, up-to-date digital records of all dietary purchasing transactions
- Communicate clearly and professionally with all facilities, food vendors, distributors, and shipping providers
- Coordinate with vendor sites, ensuring timely delivery schedules, product availability, and issue resolution
- Support dietary departments in maintaining compliance with facility standards and operational needs
Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; basic Excel knowledge required
- Willingness to learn new procurement systems, dietary software, and internal processes
- Strong communication and organizational skills; must maintain a positive, professional demeanor
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Strong math skills a plus (helpful for cost comparisons, inventory counts, and budgeting)
- Interest in dietary services, foodservice operations, or healthcare purchasing is a plus
