Location: Bedford, IN 47421
Duration: 13-Week Contract
Schedule: 3x12.5-Hour Night Shifts (36–37.5 hours/week)
Shift Timing: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Job Overview
A healthcare facility is seeking experienced Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs) to support a short-term acute care environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in adult critical care and emergency settings, and be comfortable managing a wide range of respiratory conditions and advanced equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care across ICU, PCU, and Med-Surg units
- Assist with intubation, extubation, and airway management
- Administer respiratory treatments and medications (e.g., Albuterol, Atrovent, Pulmicort)
- Manage ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow oxygen systems
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) draws and interpretation
- Conduct suctioning, tracheostomy care, and pulmonary hygiene
- Respond to respiratory emergencies and support critical care patients
- Assist in patient transport and high-risk procedures
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience (adult critical care preferred)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Active Indiana state license (must be in hand at submission)
Preferred Qualifications
- NRP and PALS certifications
- Experience in pediatrics, NICU, or patient transport
Assignment Details
- Call Requirement: 1–2 on-call weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
- Guaranteed Hours:
- 36 hours/week (3x12 shifts)
- Up to 40 hours/week (8–10 hour shifts if applicable)
- First-time travelers accepted
Additional Notes
- Experience managing COPD, Asthma, Pneumonia, and related respiratory conditions required
- Familiarity with ventilators and BiPAP systems (Hamilton equipment preferred)
