At least two years experience in institutional food services management or dietary services.

ServSafe Certification

Experience in the dynamics of child care facilities preferred.

Able to pass required background checks, physical and drug screen.

Possess a valid driver’s license.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Have a sensitivity and a commitment to serving a culturally diverse population.

Have a commitment to continuous quality improvement as it relates to organizational development and service delivery.

Have the ability to make decisions, problem-solve, and manage time effectively.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Demonstrates the ability to implement agency policy and procedure, and standards set by the Indiana State Health Department, including cleaning schedules and nutritional standards.

Participates on agency-wide action teams.

Responsible for program personnel issues including hiring, orientation, ongoing supervision, performance appraisal, training, and termination. Facilitate team building through process development and staff meetings.

Facilitate development of and operation within program budget.

Ensure that there exists a safe, secure and functional work environment by maintaining an awareness of issues related to the physical plant.

Provide assistance to the Director of Food Services in the operation of an efficient and cost effective food services program within the budgetary and personnel parameters.

Order and inventory supplies as directed.

Manage the central kitchen in the absence of the Director of Food Services.

Provide meals for special events and activities as planned by the Director of Food Services in cooperation with program directors and other administrators.
Starting salary of $50,000, with additional compensation based on education, experience, and certifications.
