  • At least two years experience in institutional food services management or dietary services.

  • ServSafe Certification

  • Experience in the dynamics of child care facilities preferred.

  • Able to pass required background checks, physical and drug screen.

  • Possess a valid driver’s license.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Have a sensitivity and a commitment to serving a culturally diverse population.

  • Have a commitment to continuous quality improvement as it relates to organizational development and service delivery.

  • Have the ability to make decisions, problem-solve, and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Demonstrates the ability to implement agency policy and procedure, and standards set by the Indiana State Health Department, including cleaning schedules and nutritional standards.

  • Participates on agency-wide action teams.

  • Responsible for program personnel issues including hiring, orientation, ongoing supervision, performance appraisal, training, and termination. Facilitate team building through process development and staff meetings.

  • Facilitate development of and operation within program budget.

  • Ensure that there exists a safe, secure and functional work environment by maintaining an awareness of issues related to the physical plant.

  • Provide assistance to the Director of Food Services in the operation of an efficient and cost effective food services program within the budgetary and personnel parameters.

  • Order and inventory supplies as directed.

  • Manage the central kitchen in the absence of the Director of Food Services.

  • Provide meals for special events and activities as planned by the Director of Food Services in cooperation with program directors and other administrators.

Starting salary of $50,000, with additional compensation based on education, experience, and certifications.
