Job Title: Medical Secretary
Location: Dedham, MA
Pay: $25 – $28 / hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (1-hour lunch break)
Type: Contract-to-Hire (CTH)
Start Date: Flexible
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Secretary to join a fast-paced urology practice. This role is ideal for someone with front desk experience in a healthcare setting who thrives in a dynamic environment and is ready to jump in and contribute from day one.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients, schedule appointments, and manage referrals
- Answer multi-line phone system and relay messages professionally
- Prepare medical reports, patient histories, operative notes, and correspondence
- Maintain office files and ensure smooth communication and organization
- Support physicians by managing calendars and coordinating consultations
- Utilize Athena EMR system for patient documentation and billing
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of front desk experience in a healthcare setting
- Experience with EMR systems (Athena preferred)
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a busy environment
