Job Description
The Clinical Research Pharmacy Tech will support the clinical research team by managing investigational drugs, ensuring proper storage and handling and assisting in the preparation and dispensing of study medication. This role will contribute to the safe and effective administration of therapies in clinical trials.

The Pharmacy Technician reports to the Site Manager.
Classification: Non-Exempt
Primary Responsibilities:
- Participate in internal and external audits and assist with any corrective actions related to pharmacy operations.
- Ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), FDA regulations, and sponsor/CRO requirements for investigational drug management.
- Work with study coordinators and clinical teams to ensure seamless IP handling and distribution.
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating pharmacy-related study activities.
- Participate in site initiation visits and study meetings to review pharmacy procedures.
- Ensure DEA compliance for controlled substances, ensuring adherence to proper handling, storage, and documentation.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and protocol amendments related to investigational drug management.
- Assist in forecasting and ordering IP supplies based on study needs to prevent shortages or overages.
- Utilize requisite equipment, non-sterile and /or compounding supplies and computer systems as appropriate for the procurement, preparation for verification and/or delivery of medication
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation, including but not limited to IP accountability logs, temperature excursion forms, and study related communications.
- Track and process drug returns and replacements
- Maintain inventory and order unblinded supplies
- Order and shipping of investigational product (IP)
- Receipt of shipments from sponsors
- Maintain temperature logs per protocol and FDA guidelines
- Proper clean up following IP production/mixing
- Maintain files and binders on site and in the Electronic Data Capture system.
- Position may require occasional weekend and/or overtime hours.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid pharmacy technician license in residing state.
- Successful completion of a formalized pharmacy technician program. National Pharmacy technician certification preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years of pharmacy technician experience
- Excellent task management and prioritization skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Positive and collaborative attitude
- Excellent follow up skills
- Ability to be ambulatory most of the workday.
- Ability to lift/transfer/push/manipulate equipment and patients, which requires strength, gross motor and fine motor coordination.

Compensation details: 20-24 Hourly Wage
