The Patient Access Representative is an essential member of outpatient clinics and specialty practices, handling patient registration, insurance verification, and appointment scheduling. This role demands high patient interaction, accurate data entry, and excellent customer service skills. Reporting to the Patient Access Supervisor, the representative leverages electronic health record systems like eClinicalWorks to ensure efficient administrative operations and seamless communication within the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient registration and collect necessary documentation
  • Verify insurance eligibility and coverage details
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments efficiently
  • Enter and maintain accurate patient data in electronic systems
  • Provide courteous and helpful customer service to patients
  • Communicate clearly with patients and internal teams
  • Resolve issues related to patient access and appointment scheduling

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience in patient access or healthcare administration
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, especially eClinicalWorks
  • Proficiency in insurance verification processes
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
