Job Description

Job DescriptionSalary: 41,600.00 per year

Multiporpoise Management LLC is looking for a front desk agent to join our growing company.

Were a small vacation rental management company that operates in three locations here in Lincoln City. We offer compensation at $41,600.00 per year. Not enough? How about employer-supplemented health insurance for all employees who meet the low minimum threshold of 17.5 hours per week, and an employee for 60 days? Still not enough? You also get fully paid life insurance. Still not enough? We also offer perks like a free two-night stay after your first year. Nice places. How about your birthday off each year? And a free gym membership. (These perks are not some lame pizza party that employers think people care about.)

What will your typical day look like? In short, keeping an eye on everything. Talking with guests and keeping them happy, where our owners own individual condominiums that we rent out online in places like AirBnb, Expedia, VRBO, etc. Helping to assign work to housekeepers and maintenance personnel. Making sure everything works so our day runs smoothly. Learning our software system that automates just about everything you can automate in the vacation business today (no check-ins, no keys, apps to assign house cleans, etc.). You get the picture.

The schedule we're looking to fill is full-time hours, 5 days a week. Weekend work is a must. Unlike managing a motel or hotel, all of our rooms are individually owned and decorated by the private owners. What this really means is that the mind-numbing slog of managing identical rooms is not part of the program here. Worked in a motel before and loved having tired travelers walk in for a cheap bed and try to haggle you down with every discount program they have? This place is not for you. The vast majority of our bookings are online. And we dont advertise as a motel. Finally, we have a real commitment to the whole picture. We pay our staff well and meet together to plan out the day. None of us goes home until the whole place is cleaned and ready for the next day.

Who this job is for

Were looking for someone steady. Someone who can own their workday. Someone who doesnt wait to be told what to do next, but also doesnt freestyle in a way that causes new problems.

You dont need to have vacation rental experience. Hospitality experience is great, but its not the main thing. We care more about solid work history, reliability, good judgment, and the ability to communicate like a grown-up when things get weird.

This role is especially good for people who like to be useful, like to learn fast, and want to build real professional skills. Communication, prioritization, customer service under pressure, and operational coordination. Youd be surprised how far those take you.

If you stay calm under pressure, like solving puzzles, and can be friendly while still being direct, youll fit in here.

This is also a great career starter!

If youre looking for a career, not just a job you hold until something better comes along, this role is one of the best ways to get your foot in the door here.

Why? Because the Office Specialist is the hub. Youll see the whole operation from the inside out. Youll learn how we support guests, how we communicate with owners, how housekeeping and maintenance work, how priorities get set, and how decisions get made when things get messy. Youll gain real experience in customer service, operations, communication, and judgment under pressure.

We want to be very clear. We cannot promise promotions on a timeline. But we can tell you whats true about our company. The top four employees at Multiporpoise Management all started as an Office Specialist, or in an equivalent role. When people excel in this position, they tend to become the people we trust with more responsibility. This role has been the starting point for some of the strongest careers in our company.

If you want to grow, learn the business, and build a professional track record in a place that notices strong work, this is a great place to do it.

We abhor cliches in job postings, but we have to say we are family-owned. Thankfully, we are not going to say that we need a detail-oriented, self-starting team player. Those descriptors are overused to the point of irrelevance. And lame. Give us a call and come have the best possible time you can working the front desk with us.

Reply to this ad with your resume and availability. I won't say that a cover letter will put you at the top of the list, but a cover letter would be a good idea. Did we mention a cover letter is a good idea? and not lame at all.
