Job Description

KGBS is looking for a new SQF specialist. We are a twenty year old, financially stable and growing local distribution company, the key supplier of Central Milling Flour throughout the Bay Area and California. We have a reputation for food safety excellence, consistently scoring in the mid 90’s for our yearly SQF audits.

As our SQF specialist you will be expected to uphold our established standards for systems and records control and be an active participant in maintaining a clean, safe building through logical, implementable, effective procedures.

Our team has a friendly, collaborative work environment. Although all SQF, HACCP and company food safety standards are your responsibility, you will be working with a team that understands food safety concepts, willingly and actively contributing to our success. As such, good communication skills and a positive management leadership model are needed. You will need to build an understanding of all areas in the company as the functioning of each department directly impacts your position.

This job is 100% on location, remote is not a possibility. Having some food safety experience is important. You do not have to be familiar with SQF specifically, but work with some food safety system matters. We use Netsuite as our inventory management system. Experience with Salesforce or other similar systems give the skills transferable to adapt quickly to Netsuite.

Scope of Job:

· Maintain the established SQF and Food Defense / Food Safety programs. Continue to look for refinements and improvements to make the program more effective. Ensure SOP and SSOPs work with current operations.

· Conduct monthly GMP facility inspections and SQF internal audits, writing corrective actions as needed.

· Follow the corrective action process, investigating root causes and delivering solutions, ensuring a well-documented and specific corrective action process.

· Ensure the site always maintains audit readiness.

· Lead the annual SQF audit and yearly Organic Audit. Supervise the quarterly Kosher reviews.

· Oversee random health department inspections.

· Execute employee food safety training programs. Revise and enhance existing training elements for impact and retention.

· Manage the pest control program.

· Manage the Sanitation program, supervising the janitor and overseeing cleanliness throughout the entire building, not just the SQF sections.

·

Attributes:

· Food Safety, food defense training and certifications. Food handlers certificate.

· Experience with Netsuite or similar inventory management system.
