A retail pharmacist position is available for a dedicated professional seeking a rewarding contract opportunity in Tularosa, NM, with a possibility to work in a nearby community known for its natural beauty and cultural richness. This role offers a day shift schedule with no weekend duties, supporting a balanced work-life routine.

Location: Tularosa, NM (with nearby opportunities in Alamogordo, NM)

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday
  • 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • No weekends; pharmacy closed on weekends

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate pharmacy staff, fostering a team environment.
  • Manage staffing levels through recruitment, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  • Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about medications, side effects, and storage.
  • Conduct Comprehensive Medication Reviews and Medication Therapy Management (MTM) activities.
  • Maintain accurate patient profiles and medication records.
  • Oversee quality assurance, controlled substances security, and hazardous waste disposal.
  • Prepare and review medication orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocols.
  • Support ongoing staff development through education and training programs.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area.
  • Participate in pharmacy staff meetings and mandatory training.
  • Manage pharmacy expenses and documentation requirements.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) or PharmD degree required.
  • Current license to practice pharmacy in the State of New Mexico.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a registered pharmacist.
  • 1-2 years of management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Retail 340B experience is a plus.
  • APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery certification required.
