Job Overview
Lajeunesse Construction Inc. is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Class A Truck Driver / Equipment Operator to support our growing construction operations throughout Vermont. This role is critical to keeping our jobsites running efficiently transporting equipment and materials, operating heavy machinery as needed, and assisting excavation crews on-site.
The ideal candidate brings a strong work ethic, CDL compliance knowledge, and the ability to transition between driving, equipment operation, and hands-on site support. Key Responsibilities

Report to the warehouse daily to receive assignments and dispatch instructions

Perform daily pre-trip inspections and report mechanical issues to maintenance personnel

Fuel dump truck daily and maintain proper fluid levels

Maintain up-to-date CDL license, medical certificate, and required FMCSA Clearinghouse registration
-
Conduct pre-operation safety checks and perform routine equipment maintenance (lubrication, fluid checks, etc.)

Secure trailers and equipment for safe transportation or prepare to pick up materials

Record purchased materials and submit receipts to the office daily

Safely unload and operate equipment on job sites to dispense materials

Adhere strictly to OSHA regulations and company safety standards

Communicate jobsite concerns to the Foreman or Project Manager promptly

Submit timecards to the office by Thursday at 7:30 AM

Assist excavation crews on job sites as needed
-
Return truck to warehouse daily and maintain cleanliness inside and out
Equipment Operator Experience (Preferred but Not Required)

Operate heavy equipment including excavators, skid steers, rollers, and bulldozers

Assist with land clearing, grading, trenching, and site preparation

Coordinate machine movement using hand signals or radios

Interpret basic blueprints and site schematics
Qualifications

Current Class A CDL License

Clean DMV motor vehicle report

Active FMCSA Clearinghouse registration

Current DOT medical certificate

Minimum 3 years of commercial driving experience

Strong hand-eye-foot coordination and ability to lift at least 50 pounds

Physical stamina to work in various weather conditions

Knowledge of safe vehicle and equipment operation practices

Ability to work independently and follow daily schedules

Strong communication skills with a professional and respectful demeanor

Reliable attendance and consistent dependability

Valid drivers license required
