Responsibilities
Lead Qualification & Response: Promptly respond to inbound leads, qualifying prospects based on fit, insurability, and coverage needs.)
Perform Coverage Reviews, Risk Assessment & Needs Analysis: Gather detailed risk information (operations, exposures, loss history). Evaluate current policies and identify gaps or opportunities for improvement.
Quoting & Proposal Development: Work with carriers and internal teams to obtain competitive quotes. Develop clear, customized proposals outlining coverage, pricing, limits, and value.
Sales Presentations & Closing: Conduct consultative sales conversations (primarily virtual/phone). Present recommendations, handle objections, negotiate terms, and close new business.
Client Relationship Management: Provide strong follow-up and onboarding. Educate clients on coverage and risk management. Coordinate handoff to account managers for ongoing service.
Pipeline Management: Maintain an active pipeline in CRM/AMS systems. Track lead sources, follow-ups, and conversion metrics to meet production goals.
Carrier Collaboration: Submit accurate applications and work with underwriters to secure favorable terms and pricing.
Team Collaboration: Partner with marketing, account managers, and other producers. Provide feedback to improve inbound lead processes.
Professional Development: Stay current on commercial insurance products, carrier appetites, and industry trends.
Requirements
Licensing: Active Property & Casualty (P&C) license required
Experience:
3+ years of CLs sells experience with small to mid-market commercial accounts
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
Skills & Attributes:
Strong communication, active listening, and consultative selling skills
Ability to build rapport quickly and convert warm leads
Highly organized and responsive in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with CRM/AMS systems
