PROTOTYPE/BUILD TECHNICIAN - 1ST SHIFT - LONGTERM CONTRACT - ROCHESTER HILLS, MI
OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Build Technician to join our production team. In this role, you will assist in building complex assemblies for low-volume robotic production, working hands-on with mechanical, electrical, and electronic components. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow engineering drawings, blueprints, and build documentation with precision.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Assemble complex mechanical, electrical, and robotic components for low-volume production.

Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD images, and specifications to ensure accurate assembly.

Perform wiring, harnessing, fabrication, modifications, and integration of electronic components.

Conduct quality checks to verify accuracy, functionality, and compliance with standards.

Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues in real time.

Maintain build documentation and collect data to support quality systems.

Utilize torque systems, assembly tools, and specialty tooling safely and effectively.

Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety protocols.

Collaborate with the production team to meet deadlines and customer delivery schedules.
QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or equivalent required; Technical diploma, journeyman training, or apprenticeship in a relevant field preferred. Certifications in robotics/electronics a plus.

1–2 years in assembling complex mechanical/electrical systems (robotics, automotive, or related field preferred).

Prototype build, vehicle assembly, service, or aftermarket modification experience highly valued.

Familiarity with quality systems, build documentation, and data collection.

Prior production experience and leadership exposure preferred.

Ability to interpret CAD images and technical drawings.

Knowledge of interior/exterior vehicle assembly, wiring, harness fabrication, and specialty tooling.
