A Special Education Teacher is sought for a 6th-grade team-taught position starting at the beginning of the 20252026 school year and continuing through November 2025. This role focuses on providing tailored educational support within a co-teaching model, fostering an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with general education teachers to implement a co-teaching model effectively.
- Deliver instruction in a team-teaching format across two blocks of math and one block of language arts daily.
- Support a caseload of 9 students with IEPs, ensuring that instructional acmodations and modifications are consistently applied.
- Actively participate in IEP meetings and maintain ongoing munication with parents and caregivers regarding student progress.
- Engage in team planning sessions to enhance collaborative teaching strategies and improve student outes.
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement required.
- Experience in team-teaching or inclusive education is strongly preferred.
- Strong munication and collaboration skills to work effectively with a diverse team.
- Ability to develop and implement differentiated instructional strategies.
