JOB SUMMARY:
The Controller is responsible for leading all accounting and financial activities, with a strong emphasis on cost accounting, and operational finance. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, and meaningful financial insights, while partnering closely with operations, and leadership to drive profitability and efficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare, review, and analyze income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and management reporting.
- Own cost accounting for the manufacturing operation, including standard costing, variance analysis, and margin reporting.
- Partner with operations and engineering to analyze production efficiency, scrap, rework, labor utilization, and overall manufacturing performance.
- Maintain and enhance job costing and work-in-process (WIP) reporting to support operational and financial decision-making.
- Oversee inventory valuation, cycle counts, physical inventories, and reserves for obsolescence.
- Ensure proper accounting for fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and major equipment or tooling investments.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasts; analyze results versus budget and forecast and explain key drivers.
- Develop financial and operational KPIs, dashboards, and analysis to support leadership decision-making.
- Support pricing, quoting, long-range planning, and capital investment analysis through detailed cost and financial modeling.
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls across accounting and plant operations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and scalability, including ERP system enhancements.
- Coordinate external accounting relationships, including annual reviews and tax filings.
- Manage, mentor, and develop the finance team.
- Serve as a trusted financial business partner to operations and leadership, providing clear financial guidance to support strategic and day-to-day decisions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with hands-on manufacturing and cost accounting expertise
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, inventory accounting, and standard costing
- Experience with Epicor ERP and driving accounting system or process improvements
- Proven leadership in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally
