About Us

Fort George Community Services, Inc. was established in 1981 to provide comprehensive education, health, nutrition, and family engagement services to low-income children and families in our communities of Washington Heights and the Bronx.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a team-oriented Early Head Start Facilitator to ensure full implementation of all aspects of The Early Head Start Program learning system, policies/procedures and tools, with the goal of supporting all children to achieve. Early Head Start Facilitators must have demonstrated coaching, planning and interpersonal skills as well as understand the importance of family engagement in a child's development. Our ideal candidate will have experience using Reliability FCCRS-R to conduct quality assessments and document appropriately.

What We Require for this Role:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Previous experience teaching and supervising in an early childhood setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbally in group presentation settings.
  • Ability to pass a physical examination, background check, and fingerprint screen.
  • Current driver's license, reliable transportation and the ability to travel out of state on occasion.
  • Bilingual in English & Spanish.
  • Ability to lift a child weighing approximately 40 lbs., up to 20 times per day if needed.
  • Ability to comfortably operate technology and computers, including using Microsoft Office and operating video cameras.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Coach providers to effectively facilitate monthly professional learning communities related to curriculum planning and assessment data.
  • Provide consistent on-going consultation to provider, to support differentiated instruction for children with IFSPs or challenging behaviors.
  • In coordination with the Part C Agency, ensure timely identification, referral, services and transition support for children with disabilities.
  • Apply expertise in on-going performance-based assessment system to support the providers and assistants in understanding child outcomes data and using results to plan and individualize instruction.
  • Track child outcomes and program quality assessment data across the network, analyze data, and make program development recommendations based on analysis.
  • Assist education team in planning and implementing comprehensive, differentiated and sequential professional development for providers.
  • Ensure screenings are completed within 45 days of entry into the program and HELP Assessment.
  • Provide weekly updates to both the EHS Manager and Director of Social Service.
