Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A leadership opportunity is available for a dedicated Pharmacist in Charge to oversee operations within a closed-door long-term care (LTC) pharmacy setting. This role requires a strong professional to manage daily pharmacy functions, compliance, staff supervision, and quality standards, ensuring exceptional care delivery in a facility processing approximately 600 prescriptions daily.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations.
- Supervise daily pharmacy operations including prescription dispensing, medication counseling, and patient care services.
- Maintain accurate records of pharmacy transactions, inventory, and controlled substances.
- Develop and implement policies to promote safe and efficient pharmacy services.
- Guide and support pharmacy personnel, providing training and performance evaluations.
- Oversee the inventory manager to maintain proper medication stock levels and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance entities to address medication-related issues.
- Manage customer service inquiries and complaints, ensuring prompt resolutions.
- Stay current with regulatory changes and industry trends impacting pharmacy practices.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and patient outcomes.
- Conduct audits and inspections to uphold safety and compliance.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment adhering to infection control protocols.
Qualifications:
- Active, clear Massachusetts Pharmacist license.
- 2-4 years of experience in Long-Term Care pharmacy settings.
- Recent pharmacy management experience, strongly preferred in LTC environments.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn Frameworks software.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, primarily day shifts with occasional evening coverage.
- Weekends as needed.
