This opportunity involves providing specialized nursing care in a busy Orthopedic Surgical Unit located in Aurora, CO. This contract position supports a dedicated team focused on delivering exceptional patient experiences and quality outcomes in a state-of-the-art hospital environment.
The unit features a manageable 20-bed capacity with a 1:5 nursing ratio, ensuring personalized care for each patient. You will work alongside a collaborative team including charge nurses and staff nurses during both day and night shifts, utilizing Meditech EMR for patient management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to orthopedic surgical patients, including elective and trauma cases.
- Independently manage up to five patients with a focus on surgical recovery.
- Perform clinical procedures such as dressing changes and aspirations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams maintaining high standards of patient care.
- Apply effective pain management techniques to enhance patient comfort.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active RN license with PACU or surgical nursing experience.
- Proven ability to independently manage multiple patients in a surgical setting.
- Experience or interest in orthopedic nursing and pain management preferred.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Positive attitude and commitment to quality patient care.
