Medical Assistant
Location: Canton, GA
Pay: $23–24/hr
Schedule: (32 hours per week)
A busy specialty practice is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join their clinical team. This role supports physicians and clinical staff in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing both clinical and administrative responsibilities while providing excellent patient service.
Responsibilities
- Obtain vital signs, oxygen saturation readings, and EKGs
- Perform general patient intake and basic clinical assessments
- Communicate patient information and any abnormal findings to physicians or nursing staff
- Place and manage cardiac monitoring devices (Holter and event monitors) and distribute reports
- Assist with patient discharge processes as needed
- Prepare documentation and patient packets for diagnostic tests and procedures
- Maintain inventory of clinical supplies and patient education materials
- Support basic operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of clinical equipment
- Assist with additional duties and special projects as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a Medical Assistant training program required (certification preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of healthcare experience; pediatric or family practice experience preferred
- Basic medical knowledge and understanding of medical terminology
- Current CPR certification required
- EMR/Epic experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Outlook)
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills
- Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong computer and typing skills with high attention to detail
- Well-organized with the ability to follow through on tasks in a busy clinical setting
