Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A major academic medical center in North Texas is seeking an Advanced Practice Pharmacist to support its expanding clinical pharmacy services. This hospital, an established teaching institution with approximately 400 beds, is enhancing its clinical coverage and is actively reviewing strong candidates. The pharmacy leadership team is prepared to initiate interviews promptly and anticipates the possibility of bringing on multiple pharmacists to support service-line needs.
This role is ideal for a pharmacist who enjoys a blend of clinical responsibilities, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a fast-paced acute care environment.
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (with potential to extend or convert to permanent)
Start Window: As soon as cleared
Location: Wichita Falls, TX
Workload: Full-time; mix of daytime and afternoon coverage
Location: North Texas region, within a large academic health system
Role Overview
The ining pharmacist will work alongside a team of experienced clinicians, residents, and medical staff. Responsibilities may include:

Providing clinical support for patient care rounds

Verifying medication orders and overseeing therapeutic appropriateness

Supporting transitions of care and medication counseling when needed

Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and specialists across multiple service areas

Contributing to workflow management in both central and decentralized pharmacy settings
-
Assisting with protocol-driven initiatives and quality improvement projects
-
Participating in a structured teaching environment that includes pharmacy learners
Scheduling is primarily during daytime and afternoon hours; however, the hospital is open to discussing alternating or specialty schedules such as 7-on/7-off.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal pharmacist will bring:

Active Texas Pharmacy License

Residency training (PGY1 required; PGY2 preferred but not mandatory)

Strong clinical background with experience in acute care or large-scale hospital practice

Ability to navigate high-volume operations with accuracy and sound clinical judgment

Confidence working with interdisciplinary teams within a teaching environment

Availability to start promptly following credentialing
