Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 educational institution in Loveland, CO, is seeking a dedicated Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing students for a contract position covering the current school year.

This role requires an educator with expertise in supporting students with hearing impairments, ensuring their academic success and social development in a inclusive classroom environment. The ideal candidate will have experience designing individualized education plans (IEPs), utilizing assistive technology, and collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, audiologists, and families.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification with specialization in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education or related credentials.
  • Demonstrated experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication methods to accommodate diverse learner needs.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state special education regulations.
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized instructional strategies and accommodations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to engage with students, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction to students with hearing impairments across various grade levels.
  • Conduct assessments and regularly update student progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary.
  • Integrate assistive listening devices and educational technology to enhance learning.
  • Collaborate with school personnel and external specialists to support student growth.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that promotes student confidence and independence.
