Journeyman Electrician with Solar Experience

We are a small but growing Hamakua based Solar Installation Company seeking a Journeyman Electrician to help build and lead our field crew. The candidate that we are seeking must have excellent customer relationship skills. If you have proven experience in solar and electrical work, we’re looking for you. You must be willing to perform all facets of an installation, electrical and non electrical.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Help build and manage a small crew
• Read electrical plans
• Install and commission battery systems
• Mount and install PV panels
• Install and wire PV equipment (Inverters, batteries, disconnects, transfer switches and generators, etc…)
• Treat the customer as if they are family
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues as needed
• Travel on rural roads to remote locations
• Interface with manufacturers for troubleshooting and warranty replacements

Skills:

• Ability to problem solve on the fly in varied environments
• Ability to do correct roof layouts for a PV array
• Ability keep a sense of humor throughout the day
• Electrical diagnosis and repair
• Must be moderately proficient using a Windows 11 laptop and willing to learn and use Google Workspace
• Generator Experience is a major plus

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 2 years experience with battery-based PV systems
• A valid State of Hawai'i Journeylevel Electrician's License at time of filing (scan and attach a copy to your resume). Please note that, unfortunately, the State of Hawaii does not have any reciprocity licence agreements with any other states. You can not transfer your existing licence. You must go through entire state application process and go through testing to get a Hawaii Journeylevel Electricians Licence.
• Experience working with 120/24VAC, Some 3 phase (208V), 12-600VDC
