Position:

The position is a Part-Time 12 hours a day for 12 hours a week and no weekends. The position requires multi tasking and the applicant can be cross-trained to other functions. This position is under the direction and supervision of the Director of Inpatient Services.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy/physiology, computer and typing skills preferred
• Unit clerk/secretarial experience preferred
• Successful completion of Basic ECG class is required
• CPR certification preferred within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities:

• Perform ongoing surveillance of patients’ cardiac monitors, cardiac rhythm and vital signs.
• Notify nursing caregivers of changes in cardiac rhythm and/or hemodynamics that could impact the patient’s condition.
• Interpret patient’s cardiac rhythm and document in the patient’s electronic medical record.
• Hand off report to the oncoming shift.
• Perform unit clerk duties and all other duties as assigned.
• Clerical/Monitor Tech is under the direction and supervision of the Unit director and House Supervisor.
