Job Description:
We’re looking for a motivated, personable, and style-savvy optician who enjoys working with patients and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has a strong background in optical sales and customer service, with a passion for helping patients look and see their best.
As a key member of our team, you’ll be responsible for guiding patients through frame and lens selections, fitting and dispensing eyewear, and ensuring a seamless patient experience from start to finish. In our collaborative, team-oriented office, you’ll also assist with front desk duties, patient flow, and clinical support as needed.
We’re a growing private practice focused on delivering high-quality care and creating a welcoming, family-like atmosphere for both patients and staff.
Position Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour (based on experience)
Candidate Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1–2 years of optical experience preferred
- Experience with vision plans (VSP, EyeMed, Spectera, etc.)
- Strong sales skills and product knowledge
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask
- Positive attitude and team-player mindset
- Willingness to support all aspects of the practice as it grows
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that fit their needs and lifestyle
- Perform accurate measurements, fittings, and adjustments
- Dispense eyewear and ensure proper fit and comfort
- Maintain knowledge of current optical products and inventory
- Verify insurance eligibility and explain patient benefits
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and assist with front desk operations
- Support pre-testing and patient work-ups when needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the optical space
- Assist with marketing efforts, including social media and promotions
- Contribute to a positive, efficient, and patient-centered office environment
