On Demand is seeking a Medical Assistant for our office in Austintown, Ohio.

Responsibilities:

• Check-in patients by collecting all information including insurance, payments or workers compensation injury information.
• Actively communicate with patients and families
• Assists in patient / family education within their own capabilities and under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Perform urinalysis, vaccines, injections and venipuncture.
  
• Provides direct care (i.e.-vital signs, wound care, EKGs, etc.) or other care to patients.
• Documentation of care will be completed in a precise, accurate manner abiding by established guidelines for charting.
• Follows safety policies and procedures in the delivery of care to assure a safe environment for patients, families and other staff members.
• Must be able to complete a thorough triage including update meds information, family history, etc.
  
• Completes all assignments during scheduled working hours.
  
• Must possess general computer knowledge and general office equipment familiarity.
• Other duties such as scanning into EMR, faxing, records & referrals as needed. Checking triages daily from NP.

Technical Expertise:

• Primary care or medical type of setting experience.
• Knowledge of patient care.
• General office duties within the medical field.
• Knowledge of and experience in medical terminology is required.
• Experience working in a healthcare environment is preferred.
• Experience working in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.
• Experience working in electronic medical record (ex. Medent) or similar software is preferred.
  

Education And Experience:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Medical Assistant certification preferred although not required.
  
• Phlebotomy experience is preferred although not required.
• Years of relevant experience: Minimum one (1) year of experience is preferred.
• Years of experience supervising: None
