Our client is a leading Healthcare provider in the Greater Philadelphia area! Their practice in Plumsteadville, PA is seeking a Patient Services Representative to provide exceptional customer service and administrative support in a fast-paced medical office environment. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a seamless experience from appointment scheduling through check-in and check-out while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Services & Scheduling
- Answer incoming patient calls and respond to inquiries promptly while following established protocols and service standards.
- Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments both in person and over the phone.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including:
- Collecting copays
- Obtaining insurance cards and referrals
- Securing required signatures
- Updating patient information within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
- Communicate patient wait times and assist in managing patient flow throughout the practice.
- Provide a positive and professional experience for patients and visitors.
Financial & Administrative Responsibilities
- Verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and benefit information.
- Obtain pre-authorizations and referrals as needed.
- Coordinate benefits and assist with insurance-related inquiries.
- Maintain accurate patient records and office documentation.
Regulatory & Compliance Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA standards.
- Support a safe and compliant healthcare environment.
Customer Experience
- Anticipate patient needs and resolve concerns promptly and professionally.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, visitors, and staff.
- Deliver high-quality customer service with empathy and professionalism.
Required Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Administrative experience in a healthcare or medical office environment preferred.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Experience with scheduling, insurance verification, and patient registration preferred.
- Proficiency with EMR systems; EPIC experience is highly preferred.
Schedule
The weekly schedule includes:
- One late shift: 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM
- Three shifts ranging between 7:45 AM - 5:30 PM
- Alternating Saturdays every four weeks: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
- Employees working the Saturday rotation will leave early on Thursday to maintain a 40-hour work week.
Pay Details: $19.00 to $20.00 per hour
