POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, the Payroll and Leaves Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely processing of payroll and serves as the primary point of contact for associates regarding all leave of absence inquiries. Interfaces with all levels of management, staff and others in a positive and professional and confidential manner, ensuring that all aspects of the Payroll and Leaves functions are met effectively, timely and within compliance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for end to end processing of biweekly payroll for hourly and salaried Associates including off- cycle payrolls and manual checks and ensuring accurate calculations of wages, overtime, deductions, bonuses and commissions.
- Process terminations and final payments in accordance with state guidelines.
- Work in partnership with HR leadership and Accounting teams to reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies within a timely manner.
- Update and maintain accurate update payroll records including new hires, terminations, transfers and pay changes.
- Respond to Associate inquiries regarding payroll issues and provide support in a professional manner
- Act as primary point of contact for associates and leavers regarding initial leave of absence to ensure a consistent and supportive Associate experience.
- Administer and coordinate all associate leaves of absence including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA, parental leave, military leave and state mandated programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience/ Training/ Education:
- A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management or related field is preferred.
- Three to five years practical experience in Payroll, which would provide a thorough knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
- Requires prior knowledge of principles and practices of payroll, leave of absence and/ or human resources. Prior experience with an HRIS database preferred.
- Previous experience with ADP Workforce now preferred, but not required
- Thorough understanding of state and federal Human Resources regulations, including wage and hour laws
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state leave laws, ADAAA, HIPAA, PHI regulations
The targeted hourly rate range is $26.73 per hour to $33.42 per hour. Final offer will be determined based on experience, education, training/certifications and specialized skills.
