Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) provide critical emergency medical care and transportation for patients in need, often in high-pressure situations.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment: EMTs assess patients' conditions and determine the necessary medical care required. This includes evaluating injuries and illnesses to provide appropriate treatment.
• Emergency Care: They provide basic life support, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), wound care, and stabilization of patients before transport to medical facilities.
• Transportation: EMTs are responsible for safely transporting patients to hospitals or trauma centers, ensuring their comfort and safety during transit.
• Communication: They communicate with other emergency services, such as police and firefighters, to coordinate responses and provide updates on patient conditions.
• Vehicle Operation: EMTs drive emergency vehicles, adhering to traffic laws while responding to emergencies.
• Documentation: Completing patient care reports and maintaining accurate records of the care provided is essential for continuity of care and legal compliance.

Electrocardiogram Technician (EKG Tech) Responsibilities & Duties

• Prepare patients for electrocardiogram (EKG) tests by explaining procedures and positioning patients correctly.
• Operate EKG machines and attach electrodes to patients' bodies to obtain accurate heart readings.
• Monitor EKG equipment during tests to ensure optimal functionality and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
• Record and analyze EKG test results, providing preliminary reports to physicians.
• Maintain and calibrate EKG equipment to ensure consistent accuracy and reliability.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the testing process.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records related to EKG tests and results.
• Assist in stress testing and Holter monitoring procedures as required.
