Position Summary
The Sebastian Office Float supports daily operations of Sebastian office by assisting all providers with clinic support functions and patient care tasks while providing back up assistance to the front desk responsibilities. This role provides flexible coverage to ensure efficient workflow and continuity of care. The Sebastian Office Float works under the direction of the Sebastian Office Manager.
Work Location & Schedule
Primary Work Location: Sebastian Office
Training Location (First 8–12 Weeks): Vero Beach Office
Ongoing Coverage: Occasional coverage in the Vero Beach office as needed.
The Sebastian Office Float will complete initial training at the Vero Beach office for approximately 8–12 weeks to ensure competency in clinical workflows, medication protocols, EMR documentation, and office procedures.
Upon successful completion of training, the employee will be primarily stationed at the Sebastian office. However, due to operational needs, occasional coverage at the Vero Beach office will be required.
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours may vary based on clinic volume and operational needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Primary Duties – Clinic Responsibilities
- Assist with maintaining efficient patient flow during clinic sessions.
- Complete charting, documentation tasks, and EMR updates accurately and timely.
- Support providers and clinical staff with direct and non-direct patient care duties to maintain clinic efficiency.
- Adhere to all medication safety and compliance standards.
- Administer Osteoporosis injections in accordance with provider orders, the 6 medication rights, universal precautions, and established office protocols.
- Ensure proper preparation, handling, documentation, and follow-through of all injections.
Secondary Duties - Front Desk & Operational Support
- Maintain a professional, team-oriented presence that promotes efficiency and accountability.
- Maintain stocked, clean, and organized exam rooms and clinical areas.
- · Answer and direct incoming phone calls professionally.
- · Assist with patient check-in and check-out.
- · Support appointment scheduling and rescheduling.
- · Provide general front office support to prevent workflow disruption during staffing gaps.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by the Sebastian Office Manager.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a medical office required; clinical experience preferred.
- Experience administering injections preferred.
- Knowledge of EMR systems and clinical workflows.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding medication safety.
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Professional demeanor with a patient-centered approach.
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Flexibility to work at both office locations.
