Accountant
General:
We are seeking a detail-orientated Accountant to join our finance team. Candidate will support accounting team, responsibilities will also include managing and automating Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. This role requires commitment to data integrity, accuracy, and adapting to evolving technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
· Process and input invoices into the AP system with accuracy and timeliness
· Verify compliance with company spending policies and procedures
· Maintain vendor master data integrity, including payment terms and account information
· Prepare and execute cash disbursement batches via check and online banking for bi-monthly payment cycles (10th and 25th of each month)
· Review Material Credit Notes (MCNs) and promptly apply vendor credits
· Record cash receipts and accurately apply customer payments
· Monitor accounts receivable aging and maintain collection schedules
· Follow up with customers on past due accounts and collaborate with customer service and sales teams to resolve payment issues
· Support month-end close procedures (Day 1: AR close; Day 2: AP close)
· Assist Quality Systems initiatives as needed
· Participate in continuous improvement projects
· Complete additional projects and duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Three (3)+ years relevant accounting experience OR bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
· Strong written and oral communications skills
· Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point) and email platforms (Outlook, Lotus Notes)
· Ability to analyze and interpret vendor and customer invoicing
· Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of business personnel information
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university
· 2 + years relevant accounting experience
· Experience working in a manufacturing environment
