An established compounding pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead regulatory compliance and quality operations at its Albany, Ohio facility. This direct hire opportunity offers long-term career stability, leadership exposure, and potential for growth. Candidates considering relocation will receive assistance, and a temp-to-perm traveler arrangement may be considered for the right individual.
Location
- Onsite: Albany, Ohio
- Schedule: Monday through Friday
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge for Ohio and additional non-resident state licenses
- Ensure compliance with FDA, DEA, State Boards of Pharmacy, and Section 503B regulations
- Maintain pharmacist and facility licensure across multiple states
- Lead Board of Pharmacy, FDA, and DEA inspections and represent the facility during regulatory meetings
- Develop, review, and maintain SOPs and training programs
- Oversee regulatory reporting, recalls, complaints, and quality investigations
- Provide regulatory guidance across cross-functional teams
- Manage QA/QC activities including batch record review, deviations, and environmental monitoring
- Oversee validation activities for equipment, systems, and processes
- Implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Review and approve change controls, labeling, and annual product reviews
- Manage vendor qualification, incoming materials, and reserve sampling programs
- Analyze environmental monitoring and present quality metrics to leadership
Qualifications
- Active Ohio Pharmacist license in good standing
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
- Minimum 5 years of leadership managing pharmacy teams
- Experience with multi-state licensure preferred
- Strong knowledge of cGMP, FDA/DEA regulations, sterile injectable manufacturing, and non-sterile compounding
- Proven ability to lead inspections and regulatory audits
- Excellent communication skills and Microsoft Office proficiency
Preferred Experience
- 10+ years in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or related industry
- 7+ years in quality or compliance roles with increasing responsibility
