Spang & Company has an opening for a Human Resources Generalist at its headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA. Responsibilities will include a range of Human Resources functions, including employee relations, benefits administration, policy and procedure updates, compliance, recruiting, safety, and employee training. The position will be hybrid and require 10 – 20% travel to our facilities in PA, OH, AZ, & TX.
Through the work of three unique product lines, we design, produce, and supply precision soft magnetic components and materials to the electronics industry and custom-engineered solutions to the power industry.
Primary responsibilities will include developing, interpreting, and coordinating policies and employee handbooks, assisting with benefit plan administration, including new hire onboarding, FMLA, COBRA, and HRIS tasks, and resolving HR issues with employees or through collaboration with supervisors. Additional responsibilities will include preparing and delivering training sessions, conducting pay surveys and job evaluations, and maintaining compensation programs. You will support the entire employee life cycle by assisting with recruiting, coaching managers on performance management and discipline, facilitating employee grievance resolutions, and participating in disciplinary meetings and terminations. You will help maintain a positive work environment through support of industrial relations programs, including those with a unionized workforce.
A bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or Industrial Relations is required. A master’s degree is preferred. 8+ years’ experience in human resources functions in a manufacturing environment is required, preferably in a union and non-union environment.
