Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 school in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a qualified Teacher for the Visually Impaired for a contract position covering the current school year (CSY).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to visually impaired students across all grade levels (K-12).
  • Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
  • Collaborate with school staff, families, and other specialists to ensure prehensive student support.
  • Utilize assistive technologies and resources to enhance learning.
  • Monitor and document student progress regularly.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
  • Experience working with visually impaired students in a K-12 educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of teaching strategies and acmodations for visually impaired learners.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective instructional plans.
  • Effective munication and collaboration skills.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a mitment to student success.
