Capitol Language Services is a company founded in 2006 serving public and private schools in Washington D.C.
Our Spanish language program aims to foster the development of a strong foundation for foreign-language acquisition while providing effective, engaging instruction at the elementary and middle school levels.
Title of position: Spanish Language Teacher
Location: Monday and Wednesday: Hearst Elementary School, NW Washington, DC
Tuesday and Thursday: Lafayette Elementary School, NW Washington, DC
Hours:
3:30-5:30 pm
Compensation:
$35/hour
Key responsibilities:
- Teaching Spanish language courses to students at the elementary level.
- CLS curriculum must be strictly followed. The selected teacher will be required to plan challenging and engaging lessons and experiences designed to help students achieve content and curriculum standards. Ensure that lessons have multiple entry points and support structures, so that children with different abilities and learning styles are successful.
- Maintaining regular communication with parents and CLS office.
Minimum qualifications and experience:
- Bachelors Degree preferred.
- Two years of experience teaching Spanish language courses at the elementary level.
- Native or near-native proficiency in both Spanish and English.
- Solid subject matter knowledge and demonstrated knowledge of the content and the methods of teaching Spanish.
- Must be committed and able to teach in a full-immersion environment with minimum use of English.
Additional requirements:
- Must be available for training during the week August 18-22, 2025. Dates will be confirmed in July.
- Must be available for the first day of classes August 25, 2025 until the last day of classes June 12, 2026.
- Must hold a US work authorization.
