About the Job SRPE is a premier structural engineering firm specializing in the inspection, design, and restoration of facades, parking garages, and roofing systems, as well as new building construction. We are looking for a dedicated CAD Technician to join our Brooklyn office.
You will work closely with our structural and building envelope engineers to develop high-quality construction documents. This role is perfect for a drafting professional who enjoys the technical challenge of detailing how buildings stay protected and structurally sound.
Key Responsibilities: Facade & Envelope Detailing: Prepare precise sections and details for masonry restoration, window wall systems, and exterior cladding.
Structural Repair Plans: Draft reinforcement and repair layouts for parking garages and concrete structures. Roofing Systems: Develop comprehensive drafting sets for roof replacements, including drainage plans and flashing details.
New Construction: Assist in the preparation of structural framing plans and foundation details for ground-up developments.
Field-to-CAD Integration: Translate field measurements and site survey data into accurate architectural and structural base drawings.
Project Documentation: Produce technical notes, schedules, and assembly details in accordance with NYC Building Codes. Qualifications:
Software Mastery:
Proficiency in CAD software is essential for creating and managing complex drawing sets.
Technical Knowledge:
A strong understanding of structural systems and building envelope components (facades/roofs).
Detail-Oriented: A keen eye for accuracy, line weights, and clear technical communication.
Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a team of engineers to meet project milestones.
Location: Must be able to work out of our Brooklyn, NY office.
