About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in San Francisco, CA
Details:
- In-Person Tutoring in San Francisco, CA
- Schedule: 15 hours, 1.25 hour sessions 3 days a week
- Rate is between $25 and $35 per hour
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or Speech and Language Impairments (SLI).
- Strong background in upper-elementary academics, particularly handwriting, writing, and math.
- Skilled in providing gentle, encouraging instruction to support communication and focus.
- Creative and energetic teaching style that integrates student interests to maintain engagement.
- Ability to implement strategies that build executive functioning, organization, and persistence.
- Preferred: Background in Special Education, speech/language development, or occupational therapy support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized instruction in handwriting, writing structure, and language organization.
- Reinforce foundational math concepts and problem-solving skills aligned with a 3rd–4th grade level.
- Support executive functioning skills such as organization, attention, and task completion.
- Use patient, positive reinforcement techniques to reduce frustration and build confidence.
- Design supplemental lessons and materials to promote continued academic growth (no homework currently provided by the school).
- Incorporate the student’s personal interests—such as dinosaurs, K-pop, Godzilla, King Kong, and YouTube content—into engaging and motivating learning activities.
- Maintain a calm, structured, and supportive environment that encourages communication and persistence.
