We are seeking an experienced Admissions Director to lead and manage the admissions process for our skilled nursing facility. This role is essential to ensuring a smooth, timely, and positive transition for incoming residents while maintaining strong relationships with hospitals, referral partners, residents, and families.
What You’ll Do
- Manage the full admissions and preadmissions process, including referrals, assessments, insurance verification, and documentation
- Serve as a key liaison with hospitals, physicians, case managers, and other referral sources
- Coordinate closely with Central Intake and interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth transitions into the facility
- Communicate with residents and families to explain the admissions process, answer questions, and provide tours
- Verify insurance coverage and authorizations (Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, private insurance)
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations
- Maintain accurate referral and admissions records in CRM/EHR systems
- Participate in marketing efforts, outreach initiatives, and community engagement
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow, customer experience, and admissions outcomes
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare admissions, discharge planning, case management, or related customerfacing healthcare roles
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and private insurance processes
- Excellent communication, organization, and timemanagement skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deadlines
- Professional, customerfocused, and detailoriented
Schedule & Work Environment
- Primarily indoor healthcare environment
- Regular interaction with residents, families, and clinical staff
- Occasional evenings or weekends may be required based on admissions needs
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform standard office and computerbased work
