A Day in the Life of a Seasonal Health Insurance Navigator:
Provides consumers across Wyoming with quality information about health plans available on the federal Insurance Marketplace, implemented under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to facilitate enrollment in qualified health plans. This is a grant funded position.

Here Is What You Will Be Doing:
- Explains eligibility, benefits, cost-sharing, and appeals processes to consumers.
- Assesses client needs, determines eligibility, identifies appropriate resources, provides all necessary information to the client, and makes contacts with other agencies on behalf of the client if necessary.
- Ensures services provided are in the interest of the consumer as their client, not the insurer.
- Provides information to individuals and families in a way that can be understood, in a culturally sensitive manner, for those with low-proficiency English, and people with disabilities who have special communication needs.
- Maintains accurate and complete client data records by collecting all demographics.
- Helps people understand how premium tax credits work, and their potential financial impact.
- Accurately records transaction information on all caller contacts.
- Serves a specific regional population which may include low-income, disadvantaged and hard to reach populations. Assists and covers other regions as needed.
Region 1: Crook, Sheridan, Campbell, Johnson, and Weston counties. Region 2: Fremont, Natrona, Niobrara, Converse, and Carbon counties. Region 3: Platte, Goshen, Albany, and Laramie Counties. Region 4: Sweetwater, Uinta, Lincoln, Sublette, and Teton counties. Region 5: Park, Hot Springs, Washakie, or Big Horn counties. Region 6: Fremont County and Wind River.
Desired Skills:
- Ability to work flexible schedule due to community events, disaster response or special projects
- Knowledge of federal insurance marketplace and programs
- Highly developed organizational skills
- Extensive knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Office and database programs
- Ability to operate basic office equipment
- Detail oriented with advanced organizational skills
- Excellent grammar skills and good listening skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work on a team
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to travel to different sites, including some overnight stays
Here Is What You Will Need:
- High school diploma (or equivalent certificate from an accredited program) or higher degree
- Must live in assigned region per grant requirements
- Valid USA driver’s license
- Must have clean driving record that follows Cheyenne Regional Medical Center’s driving guidelines
- 15 Days: Federal Marketplace Navigator training within fifteen (15) workings days of hire
Nice to Have:
- Associates degree or higher
- Three (3) or more years of computer experience
- Experience with database programs
- Experience with Exchange, Medicaid and other public programs and the private insurance market in the state
- Bi-lingual
