We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a strong commitment to providing exceptional grooming services. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of pets while delivering high-quality grooming services that meet our clients' expectations. This role requires both technical skills in grooming and a friendly demeanor to foster positive relationships with pet owners.
Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for various breeds of dogs and other pets if necessary.
- Assess the condition of pets’ coats and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques and products.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners and Front Desk about their pets' needs and grooming options.
- Handle animals safely and comfortably, using appropriate restraint techniques when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized after each use.
- Monitor pets during grooming sessions for any signs of distress or health issues, reporting concerns to pet owners as needed.
- Stay updated on the latest grooming trends, techniques, and products to enhance service quality.
- Take direction well when it comes to the picky clients who want their grooms a certain way.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of animal care practices and grooming techniques.
- Proficiency in animal restraint methods to ensure safety during grooming sessions.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with pet owners.
- Experience in dog training or handling is a plus, enhancing the overall experience for both pets and their owners.
- Familiarity with pet sitting or veterinary practices can be beneficial in understanding animal behavior and health needs.
- Ability to handle various breeds of dogs and other animals with confidence and care.
- Groomer MUST be able to speak English and Portuguese or Spanish and English or the three of them.
