Job Summary:
This role involves providing direct nursing care in line with the established policies, procedures, and protocols of our healthcare organization.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enhance patient care and quality of life by applying medical-surgical nursing standards and evaluating the effectiveness of nursing practices.
- Build strong relationships and advocate for patients and their families to create personalized care plans.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Formulate assessment and management strategies considering various dimensions of health and well-being.
- Demonstrate understanding of how illnesses affect patients' overall status.
- Exhibit leadership by collaborating with patients, families, and the healthcare team to assess needs and evaluate care outcomes.
- Engage in effective communication with patients and families to ensure culturally sensitive and ethical care.
- Educate patients and families on health maintenance and comfort measures.
- Promote a positive work environment by mentoring nursing colleagues and students.
- Apply evidence-based practices to ensure nursing care meets the specific needs of patients.
- Maintain a state of alertness and safety while performing duties.
- Conduct point-of-care testing as per established guidelines.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of one year of experience as a registered nurse.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Regularly communicate verbally to share information.
- Frequent standing and walking.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Regular sitting, reaching, and data entry.
- Frequent visual acuity for near and far distances, including color differentiation.
- Regularly use smell to identify odors.
- Frequently use hearing to receive oral communication and detect alarms.
- Occasional lifting of objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Occasional patient handling.
- Occasional bending, stooping, and repetitive movements.
- Occasional driving.
- Rarely crawl or run.
