Job DescriptionENTHUSIASTIC MATH, READING, AND WRITING TUTOR:

The Job: We are seeking enthusiastic instructors who specialize in tutoring math and English language arts to students in the K-8 age range. Proficiency with classes like Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1 is required.

Proficiency with higher level math subjects (Geometry, Algebra 2 etc.) or any of the common science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) is a plus, but not required. Each tutor will be seated at his/her own individual table with up to three students per session (no roaming from table to table).

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coaching and guiding students to meet their academic goals
• Strengthening students study habits and identifying how each student learns best
• Being engaging, nimble, and professional
• Keeping detailed records of tutoring sessions

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university (or currently enrolled in a degree program leading to a bachelors degree)
• 1+ years of previous tutoring experience (previous teaching experience is not required, but is a plus)
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to work two to five days/week
