Job Title: Assembler

Job Description

The Assembler is responsible for assembling fabricated parts and sub-assemblies under general supervision, following established procedures and guidelines. This role is based in a manufacturing environment on a first shift schedule, typically 5:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. with a 45-minute lunch break.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble sub-assemblies and install accessory components and materials according to established procedures and work instructions.
  • Perform basic electrical wiring connections by following applicable diagrams and schematics.
  • Inspect products to ensure they conform to quality, engineering, and customer requirements.
  • Operate a variety of hand tools, including electrical and pneumatic power tools, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Load, unload, lift, and move materials and products, using lifting equipment when available and appropriate.
  • Read and interpret job orders, diagrams, and blueprints to select, position, and assemble materials and accessory components correctly.
  • Complete and maintain all associated electronic processes and paperwork, including checklists, stamping, blueprints, bar coding, and shipping materials.
  • Follow and support the current Quality Management System and Safety Management System requirements at all times.
  • Maintain departmental housekeeping and 5S standards to keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
  • Perform additional tasks and projects as needed to support department operations and production goals.

Essential Skills

  • Experience using hand tools and power tools in an assembly, mechanical, production, or general labor environment.
  • Ability to read and use a measuring tape accurately.
  • Ability to read and follow job orders, diagrams, and basic blueprints.
  • Ability to perform basic mechanical assembly tasks with attention to detail and quality.
  • Capability to safely lift, move, and handle materials and products as required in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established procedures.
  • Commitment to working safely and following all safety policies and guidelines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Familiarity with basic electrical wiring based on diagrams.
  • Experience reading and interpreting detailed blueprints is a plus.
  • Comfort working with mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Ability to support 5S and continuous improvement practices.

Work Environment

The work involves standing, moving materials, and using hand, electrical, and pneumatic power tools around production equipment. Full-length pants made of sturdy material without holes are required, and steel-toed boots are needed but not provided. Safety glasses, ear plugs, and safety sleeves are provided and must be worn as required. The workplace follows formal Quality Management and Safety Management Systems, as well as 5S housekeeping standards, to maintain a clean, organized, and safe production area.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Dimas, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
