Lamar Technical Services, a partner of Think Power Solutions, is seeking experienced Technicians to support electric utility infrastructure projects across Texas. If you have a solid background in utility staking, surveying, easements, or power line construction, we want to hear from you.
This role offers autonomy in the field, meaningful work that impacts community infrastructure, and a strong compensation package in a supportive, non-corporate environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform detailed staking and layout for overhead/underground power lines
- Independently utilize GPS equipment to capture precise field data
- Apply AutoCAD and GIS tools to develop detailed utility infrastructure designs
- Prepare and review staking sheets, construction drawings, and material lists
- Coordinate with landowners, engineers, and permitting agencies (e.g., TxDOT)
- Ensure compliance with utility standards, safety codes (e.g., RUS, NESC), and company protocols
- Maintain accurate records and field documentation
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance on field equipment and vehicles, ensuring compliance with operational and safety standards
- Travel to project sites throughout the region

Requirements:
Requirements:
- 1–3+ years of utility staking or electric utility field experience
- Familiarity with RUS construction standards, NESC, and utility permitting
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, GIS, and/or GPS-based field tools
- Strong understanding of electric distribution line design and easements
- Valid Texas driver’s license with clean driving record
- High attention to detail, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently
- Must be a non-smoker
