SUMMARY:
The Quality Inspector I, is responsible for performing tests on products at various stages of production to ensure that customer specifications are being met and company quality standards are followed. Perform detailed inspection of mechanical components manufactured in house or by outside sources. Create records of results and communicate product status to key personnel. The Quality Inspector must uphold the safety policies our company has created and oversee the product development process
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- \n
- Performs first piece, in process, and final inspections.
- Has the authority to stop production if parts do not pass.
- Reads and understands print drawings and specifications for correct test requirements, procedures, and sampling plans.
- Receives and documents sample parts into the Quality Lab tracking system.
- Reviews lab test results to ensure all operations have been properly performed and recorded.
- Issues and tracks production gauges to the manufacturing floor.
- Sort parts in the lab if required.
- Assists Quality Lead and Manager as required.
- Document results in various required formats
- Communicate results to designated management and engineering personnel.
- Validate accuracy of inspection devices and equipment.
- Ensure accurate record keeping of product verification data.
- Report any issues of concern to the Quality Manager and other key personnel.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

- Strong written and verbal communication
- Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize work.
- Knowledge of and ability to use enterprise software (Visual).
- Fundamental understanding of the activities and requirements of the Quality Department.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to support Quality Department personnel.
- Basic math and calculating skills.
- Ability to read and understand technical documents and drawings.
- Computer skills including the use of Microsoft office tools and the maintenance of records and data.
- Has a sense of urgency and is proactive.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Required
- High School Diploma or Equivalent

- Advanced education or completion of trade school or certification courses helpful.
- Minimum 3 years mechanical inspection in manufacturing environment required, 5 years or more desired.

SALARY RANGE:
$20.00- $23.00/Hour based on experience
