We are currently seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate to fill the role of Specials Cabinet Builder. This full-time, 1st Shift position is based in Simpsonville, SC, and offers an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to a culture built on quality, integrity, and teamwork.
The Specials Cabinet Builder is responsible for the preparation, fabrication, and assembly of the cabinetry based on product order specifications. The position requires a strong attention to detail, accountability to self and others, and interdepartmental communication.
Responsibilities
- Measure materials for conformance to blueprint specifications using a variety of measuring devices.
- Responsible for reviewing products and material during manufacturing to make sure they meet company requirements.
- Design and fabrication of custom jigs and fixtures to ensure repeat results and accuracy.
- Set up and operate CNC machines such as routers molders, planers and/or lathes
- Ability to measure then adjust machine set up and parameters to meet customer specifications.
- Operate all types of woodworking equipment, sliding panel saws, band saws, mortise machines, planers and sanders, pipe clamps, biscuit jointers, tenor.
- Design and fabrication of custom jigs and fixtures to ensure repeat results and accuracy.
- Make workstation adjustments, including tool and fixture changes, to facilitate product changeover, as required.
- Maintain charts, logbooks, databases, as required.
- Report any issues to the supervisor on duty.
- Meet the deadlines of individual production tasks during shift.
- Escalate concerns for material, technical, and quality issues.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2-3 years of experience in woodworking or carpentry preferred
- Prior machine operating experience preferred
- Knowledge of how to add and subtract measurements.
- Proficient with reading measuring devices to include tape measures, straight rule, calipers and levels.
- Ability to interpret written and verbal instructions
- Ability to read and interpret diagrams.
- Able to identify proper tools needed to complete tasks and use them effectively
- Detail oriented
- Great communication and interpersonal skills
Working Relationship
Communication is required across all levels of the organization executive team, other functional leaders, subordinates, and production floor workers. The Sander works under the immediate supervision of the Department Supervisor.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift/move in excess of 50 lbs. at a time
- Stand, walk, stoop, and perform motions for an extended period
PPE
Safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes at all times while in the production floor.
Safety
This position expects to adhere to all safety rules to include the use of all require protective personal equipment (PPE). Specifically, eye and hearing protection must be worn at all times while in the production floor.
