Summary:
A growing comppany is hiring aDental Assistant for it's health center in Akron, OH. This role offers the opportunity to work in a modern facility with advanced equipment while supporting community-based, patient-centered dental care. The practice provides both general and advanced dentistry-including fillings, crowns, dentures, whitening, and night guards. New grads are welcome with Ohio x-ray certification.
Day to Day:

Review daily patient schedule and prep operatory rooms (build trays, sterilize tools, stock supplies)

Call patients from lobby, gather dental history and intake

Take digital x-rays using Shick Sensors
-
Assist dentist during exams and procedures: fillings, crowns, dentures, whitening, teeth coding, etc.

Take impressions/molds for night guards, crowns, and dentures

Maintain electronic dental records with accurate charting

Follow OSHA standards for sterilization, waterline testing, trap cleaning, and equipment maintenance

Occasionally assist with front desk duties (e.g., prior auths, answering patient questions, inventory support)
Qualifications:

X-ray Certification (Ohio - Required)

CPR/BLS Certification (Required)

3-5 months minimum hands-on dental assisting experience (school/externship experience accepted)

Knowledge of basic and advanced dental procedures

Completion of a Dental Assistant Program (preferred)

Team-oriented, motivated, and excellent communication skills

Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask

Experience with electronic dental records and digital imaging (preferred)

Familiarity with prior authorizations and insurance processes (nice to have)
